Sometimes I feel like fluent people are lying about their (social) anxiety.. When I am nervous **YOU CAN TELL** My stutter becomes 10x worse and I am stuttering on every other word. However, I have friends that have told me that they have social anxiety in large groups, but they never stutter, or are as fluent as they are in a relaxed interaction, such as a one-to-one with me or their family I know its wrong, but it really grinds my gears that people like them complain about their social anxiety, when it makes **0 DIFFERENCE TO THEIR SOCIAL ABILITIES**. Whereas for myself, and I'm sure for a lot of other people here, our social abilities, and whether or not we will fit into the group, is largely dependent on our speech ability, which in turn is dependent on how anxious we feel, which itself varies by the day and is largely unpredictable I feel bad for having these thoughts but at the same time feel that I can't be the only one that feels this way. Has anyone else had the same thoughts?
