Very common. The higher premium placed on "not stuttering" the more the pws will likely 1) stutter, 2) avoid. If you project negative thoughts about your stutter, you will feel anxiety (i.e., "If I stutter, my manager will doubt my competence"). This is why cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) must be part of treating stuttering.
