This advice is problematic as fuck. Stuttering is not contagious. It has been proven to be genetic. Neither of my parents stutter, so going by your theory, where did I catch it from? I lived under the same roof as them for 18 years, so going by your theory, why didn't they catch it from me? Why hasn't my husband caught it from me yet? My stuttering is genetic, not infectious. I have an uncle who stutters. I have never spent more than 10 minutes with him because he lives in another country. But it's in my mom's genes, and she passed it to me. Please don't spread this misinformation around because not only is it wrong, but it also encourages people to treat stutterers like lepers.
