I agree, I’ve done a lot of this AND I don’t think we should have to work harder to be treated as equal, intelligent, and capable. Can you think of another group of “disabled” people who are told just try harder? That’s how you’ll get respect? Stuttering is mentally taxing, many don’t have the resiliency or resources to just work harder. I think awareness is one avenue for changing this narrative. Biden did some of this (as did the young man he had speak at the convention) however he’s too political and by many not looked favorably upon.
