Have an Evaluation for the Military Coming Up, need some advice I have been pursuing a job the military for a while, and only recently have found a job I'm satisfied with: Intelligence Analyst in the Army National Guard. Thing is, I need a waiver for my stutter. To get a waiver, I need to go to a doctor I don't know, and will have it evaluated to determine whether it will affect my job performance. Obviously, the thought of it stresses me out. Stress, by and large, makes my moderate stutter quite worse. Mainly due to the fact that it cuts into my control over my speech, and my ability to apply techniques. MEPS (Military Physicals) gave me the worst stuttering I've had in years. I am concerned as to whether it might bomb my evaluation. While I've come to terms with the fact that I might not make it into the Army (And have alternatives thought out), I'll give it my best shot. Do you guys have any techniques to better control your stutters under stress? Anything to take off the edge?
