While people might not have best reaction to our stutter, it is also helpful for us to be less sensitive to other people’s reactions, for the sake of our own mental health. For me I used to be hyper sensitive to what other people might think about me. And I realized it was effecting my sanity. After going through a therapy program I realized that most of it was in my head. People react differently when they hear us stutter, and most of the time it’s not malicious. 90% of time If someone is malicious it makes them bad people, not us. After realizing this, I became more and more comfortable stuttering in front of others. The more I got comfortable, the more freely I started speaking.
