I am also currently undergoing speech therapy, and i know exactly how you feel, the slp talks and teaches us all those techniques and they thinks according to them it’s helping but in reality it didn’t, and then they blame our stutter on us by saying we didn’t speak the way they taught and through their techniques, it’s disturbing and mentally exhausting that we have to feel that way. It’s like i always try to explain people that it’s not our fault that we are like this and it’s not in our control, but people who don’t stutter think that it’s our responsibility and if we stutter that it’s our fault and all that. People and Slp will never know how much hard emotionally and mentally it is to live with it, My Slp also talks all this positivity and all but it does nothing, and when we do all the therapy with slp and get out of the office/clinic and in real world it doesn’t make a difference then it’s heart breaking,i hope people understand and can relate to this.
