I speak from experience. I've been to 10 psychologist and most had no clue what to do about the psychological aspect of stuttering. They dont know the research you are talking about. It doesnt get covered during the training and they arent willing or dont have the time to look into it themselves. I'm currently being treated by a psychologist who was willing to work together with a stuttertherapist to treat me. This is why I am of the opinion most dont know how to treat you.
