One last thing - 2 years ago, my heat/hot water went out for 3 days in cold winter weather. I convinced myself I “wasn’t using thermostat correctly” bc I was so scared to call. When I eventually called, the lady got my address wrong 3 times, and she eventually sobbed with pity when she realized how pathetic my situation was. That’s how much I hate my stutter. Once I started disclosing and practicing voluntary stuttering, it took me 5 weeks to sound fluent. I socially know/work w multiple SLPs. When I eventually tell them I stutter, they look very confused bc I sound so fluent. I know I still have blocks. But hardly anyone else does bc I know how to move smoothly through them . Maybe *that* could be your goal?
