The faster you embrace it, the better. As soon as I embraced it as part of who I am, my life instantly improved. I feel like my fluency improved almost overnight as well. All that anxiety and stress also compounds the issue and it doesn’t help. It’s a part of who you are and it’s the card you’ve been dealt. Everyone lives life with some quirk- stuttering is just ours. I get that people suck and will judge you or mock you. They would’ve picked something to give you shit about anyways. On the bright side, it’s certainly not a judge of your character. Although it’s a million times easier said than done, do your best to embrace it and don’t let it hold you back. Make damn sure you don’t let anyone else hold you back. Again, stuttering is just a trait you have. It’s not a sign that you are stupid, have something wrong with you, etc. Don’t let anyone else make you feel as such.
