I don’t know if you want my take on SLP but here I go: SLPs learn you tricks to control it or to speak more fluently. The question here is do we have a speaking problem or is it mentally and in our heads? When I’m on my own I never ever stutter, not in the slightest. So I don’t have a stutter in general. Other example is when I’m mad At someone I don’t stutter at all. So for me it’s in my head and the wish of being a perfectionist and with that speaking fluently. We are so obsessed with perfection and not wanting to stutter that we are trying to fight it and with that we are only making it worse. All what I am saying here is that if you are confident and sure enough about the things you are saying we will be more or less fluent. When we are doubting things, and a perfectionist always does.
