I am not sure if this work for you, but here's how I got through public speaking (and how I still get through it when I brief my Airmen): Speak to a cadence. Let me elaborate: When giving your speech, visualize a rise and fall in inflection and tone as you're speaking. Don't make it overt or it'll be distracting. Pretend you're playing Beat Saber or Guitar Hero; ultimately, you're trying to get your speaking to "match" the Saber squares or GH button queues. I find that using this technique distracts me from that "oh God I'm going to be called on next" anxiety. Alternatively, when writing your speech out, pick a handful of common words (words that appear a lot) and add a unique way of saying them. What I would do for the longest time is try to imitate Sean Connery on certain words, adding that unique "sh" at the end of the word. It's unlikely to get you marked down, especially if your instructor is aware that you stutter and that you'll be using this as a coping mechanism. Lastly, just remember to persevere through bloodymindedness, if nothing else. You can do this, don't let the anxiety and fear distract. Harness it, hitch your speech wagon to the rage and frustration that I think all stutters feel at times and ***get that bitch done.*** I look forward to hearing of your success, friend. You got this.
