I've just recently started taking propranolol mainly because my stuttering heightens 80% of the time due to anxiety. The other 20%, I can't explain. I only take it if I know I have to talk for long periods of times ((ex: meetings (only with managers and higher ups) or presentations)). For general staff meetings I don't take it. Otherwise I just don't care whether or not I stutter. I guess I'm trying to say I pick and choose when to take it. Most of the time, the medication helps tremendously. Other times, it gets rid of the anxiety (the shaking and the sweats) and then I can focus on my skills usage. I still have blocks during these times but it's less than it would have been without the medications Keep in mind it's not 100% effective but it does makes a difference if you are certain your stuttering can be linked to you being anxious because you stutter (i.e., your stuttering gets worse than it should because you're anxious). Apart from medication, I think mainly my attitude and outlook about my stuttering is what gets me through 110% of the time. Let me know if you have further questions.
