Great post! Avoiding eye contact by looking down/away is one of those gross motor movements that reinforces the fear response in the moment. For many, after practicing alone and with safe people, simply *looking up* can instantly resolve part of the block. This has greater efficacy when combined with a normal exhale , and enunciating your words, especially as you begin to speak.
