Best Strange Stuttering Experience Today I had to speak to one of my colleagues at a new hospital that I have been teaching at. I have been experiencing a great amount of fluency- like almost 100% even in high stress situations. Don't ask me how tho...I'm on the upside of "the swing". Anyway we were talking and I noticed he had a very slight stutter. Somehow, I started stuttering a little as well. We kept talking and were really vibing and connecting but my speech slowly declined. I then noticed that his did too. It was so strange because were looking at each other in the eyes and acknowledging this was happening and neither had the guts to address the situation we were in. It was a like a bizarre race to the bottom. He broke first, he had a massive block that I could see coming a mile away (I was holding my breath slightly coz I was waiting for it like a psycho) and then he just burst out laughing. I felt bad, for like half a second before I burst into laughter too. So there we are, in the middle of a hospital hallway, dying, tears streaming, holding our sides, trying desperately to not pee... it was so crazy! I got scared for second because I thought we might never be able to stop laughing and this was going to be our life now!!! Worst case of the giggles. Eventually we stopped laughing and I helped him up from the floor (yeah he was on the floor rolling) and we had lunch together and just talked, we regained both our initial levels of fluency- He was like "you aren't leaving me until you fix what you broke". I was like "SAME bruv!" We got our work done but now I know I have a friend for life. I even gave him a ride to the other side of the campus on the back of my motorbike- this ER nurse trusted me with his head as I don't carry a spare helmet. Not only that, I even offered him my helmet and was going to go lidless- I have never ridden without a lid! It was like I have a new brother from another mother. Anyway, that was my bestest strangest experience with my speech in my life. I want to hear your strange cool stories with stuttering.
