With hard uncomfortable work, It is possible and important to reduce the hard, silent blocks caused by a mild panic response. 1. In front of a mirror, making eye contact with yourself, practice voluntary repetitions. Notice your lower core tensing during a true block. To release block, exhale, maintain eye contact, and begin slowly. 2. When comfortable, do the same but with phone calls. Call random restaurants etc and ask questions. 3. As often as possible, disclose that your stutter and may sometimes pause, etc, and do voluntary repetitions. 4. Practice releasing a block - make eye contact, begin on regular size exhale, begin slowly, enunciate as you speak.
