What Do You Do For Job Interviews? What if you had a job interview and there were no options in the interview for requesting accommodations? Because I've had job interviews before where I've stuttered during the interview and just by looking at the HR person's face, I can tell that was what killed the interview and they made up their minds to not hire me. However there have been interviews where you can request accommodations or specify information before the interview. And when I've mentioned that I have a speech problem, the interview went more smooth. The person interviewing me knew beforehand that I have the problem and they didn't really focus on it. They just went ahead with the interview and focused on the content of the conversation. So what do you do in situations like this? Do you resort to using a keyboard to type (whenever you stutter)? Do you use an " interview voice "? Because I know a lot of stutterers stop stuttering when they act. Like putting on a different voice. Or talking in an artificial way where you breathe in unorthodox patterns and produce speech in an alternative way? A techinque that might not work for the long term, but might work for 10 minutes? Is there such a thing?
