I wouldn't go as far as stating it's the opposite. Sounds like baselessly trying to lift yourself up to cope with the disfluency. Doing a study on stuttering and IQ would be really interesting but I don't think one will be made as IQ among different human populations is a really controversial topic and has distinctive career-ruining implications if you make certain claims.
