Told the pharmacy tech to hang on while I said my date of birth, as I have to think and then say it slow I am 31/ m and although I have grown out of stuttering, ordering food at the drive thru has never been easy. Also picking up my scripts from CVS has become interesting, albeit frustrating. Depending on my anxiety level, sometimes I have to tell the pharmacy tech in the window to please hang on as I have a speech impediment. The guy knows me well, as I'm a regular, and his response was, "Okay" and we just laughed it off. I'm pretty open with it. Then he said to have a good day. I mean, a pharmacy is somewhere where we pick up medications to treat a variety of medical conditions. It is healthcare and part of the territory. Anyway, just a little victory. I wanted to share. Maybe even one person will feel more confident and OWN IT.
