Thank you for your comments. Same to you my friend. At 52 yes my stuttering has gotten better just due to maturity but I still face a lot of the same issues I did when I was younger. The hardest part of growing up with a stutter was the time I realized that no matter how comfortable I AM with it there will always be people who aren't. Those of you living in America have the extra challenge of dealing with a less than forgiving culture which will pull you down. I truly believe if I had grown up in a more accepting culture I would have been less effected by the negative consequences of stuttering. I have traveled all over the world and I can safely say American and European cultures are the least forgiving when it comes to disabilities or whatever you want to classify it. Things get better and you tend to not care as much...too many other stressors out there...rent,sex life , job etc. but it hasn't gone away unfortunately. The best advice I can give anyone is to get AGGRESSIVE. If someone disses you or disrespects you GIVE THAT SHIT BACK >>>VERBALLY. I was a really nice guy for many years but that did nothing for me. When I started giving it back to people they think twice about coming for you. I have fought this world tooth and nail since birth. I don't regret my attitude . I am a product of my environment.
