Types of stuttering -- is there a word for this? I am thinking about getting my 3 year old evaluated. I am not sure if this is normal or not. I am not asking for advice per say on what to do, but I am curious if stuttering is something that is sub-divided into different types, and if so, what this one is called. He never has trouble at the beginning of or middle of words the way I see "classical" stuttering portrayed on TV, but in the middle of a sentence he will often repeat a word: \-- "Dadda, I want to go to the store because, because, because, because, because, because I want a cookie." The 'because' in a sentence like this could be repeated more than 2-3 times, sometimes around 10 times. Another example: \-- "He did not put the toy in the in the in the in the in the in the play area." Again, 'in the' could be repeated around 10 times sometimes. Is this type of stuttering called something in particular? Thanks!
