I've seen improvements in my own speech from both 1) sharing and expressing emotional things and 2) physical practice speaking. It sounds like you'd gain a lot from a friend to confide in, even if it has to be through text at first. You want to reach out for help and that's a huge step forward from the depressing ways we sometimes deal with stuttering (or I used to, anyway). Remember you're not alone.
