Self disclosing with kids Hello, I recently got a fabulous job managing a nature preserve and museum, however, one of the big parts is doing museum and preserve tours and I'm super nervous. I introduced myself to a group last week and saying my name always trips me up, and while I was doing it the kids laughed. I don't blame them - it's weird and I'm sure my contorted face is something they haven't encountered before. But it's highly triggering and reminds me of when kids would mock me as a kid. This also puts me in a negative headspace and affects the remainder of the tour. I'd like to get it out of the way early and move past it. Does anyone have any advice for self disclosing to kids? Is that recommended?
