My stuttering is really strange. I have no problems giving a presentation or talking when I am *standing up or able to move freely.* This is because I use my hands to help my fluency. My stuttering comes out in full force when I am sitting down in a tight area, responding to someone of authority (classroom setting) or when I'm overly anxious or excited. On the other hand, I became a stronger presenter, a stronger writer, and when I don't stumble through my words, I consider myself a good speaker. Stuttering has made me more careful and forward looking. I wouldn't have this mindset if I hadn't stuttered and it's a great personal challenge to tell people. If there's one thing I could change, It would be stuttering over my name. That kills all confidence. My name begins with an "ahh" sound...so its easy to "lose your breath"
