Nobody speaks perfectly. I was able to achieve fluency over 20 years ago. I was in my mid-20s when I did it. For me it was about finding the right speech therapist and putting in the work. Do I still stutter sometimes? Sure. But I went from being a severe stutterer to being fluent. Most everyone I work with has no idea that I have a stutter. And I speak with them regularly. About 6 months ago I had a block when I was talking to the dispatcher. She made a stuttering joke, and I told her that I grew up with a stutter. She got all flustered, and was very apologetic. It didn't bother me like it would have back in the day. The point of that story is that I am so fluent that nobody knows that I stutter. Other than the occasional block. As opposed to my early twenties when I could not get a fluent sentence out ever.
