Thank you for your response to my OP, it's really reassuring to hear from fellow stutters that have successfully conquered the dreaded job interview, I really hope that I can post positive messages similar to yours on this thread someday soon :) In the mean time, I agree with you. Most people find interviews daunting, but at least most people can convey their thoughts without blocking, stuttering or repeating every couple of words. I've also noticed, from practising answering questions on video, that I have a habit of closing my eyes and slighting jerking when I'm caught on a word.......which must look insane to an interviewer. It actually kind of explains why some interviewers have sat across from me with shocked expressions or just look straight up embarrassed or uncomfortable. Anyway, I've applied for more roles this week so I'm not giving up, and hopefully I never will, but it gets frustrating going into extremely challenging interview situations and having nothing to show for it again and again apart from a bruised ego and that horrible sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. I honestly thought that in the year 2020, where everybody is fighting for equality and trying so hard not to offend other people that stuttering is still widely discriminated against. It really blows my mind!
