I felt the same way, combined with family issues life looked so hard. But I studied very hard. When it came to getting job, people with little knowledge got jobs in very few attempts, I got after several months. Such, situation made me think - is it really worth to study hard or being smarter when dumb guys are getting jobs just because they could speak fluently. Then, I settled for my job and completely started to focus on stuttering and social skills. But, I was partially wrong. With all social skills and fluency, I was trying to become like everyone else. These years, I didn't focused on my technical skills much, as I had enough. But now, I realised becoming smarter and having superior skills are way more important in life. It is hard to become a person who works hard having technical superiority over others. I will advise you, to maintain your habit of hard work and just focus on conveying your work and thoughts to others not seek fluency. Fluency you can acquire with time. You are at important age, being sad is not the solution. People who does well in presence of problems are remembered only. Focusing only at stuttering, never loose other aspects of your character.
