I believe I’m going through this too! Developed a stutter only a couple months ago since a breakdown but it’s getting a whole lot worse. I’m 25 and have never had a speech problem. I am getting tested for autism/adhd but I have no idea what the results will be. My stutter gets extremely bad when I’m unable to see the person I’m speaking to (phone calls, or when I’m talking to someone from another room). Doctors are putting it down to depression/anxiety but I don’t have any of these feelings anymore. The stammer does make me anxious though, as it probably would anyone! It’s difficult getting used to what feels like a whole new identity but with no real solid answer as to why. How do you cope? 🙂
