i feel like the O after the C kinda smooths it out, if that makes sense. for example try to say carrot out loud and try saying Connor out loud, it's hard for me to articulate this very well but the C in Connor is "smoothed out" and softer sounding compared to the C in carrot where it's sort of a more blunt and hard sounding C. and, for me atleast, saying words that start with "soft" sounding letters or sounds is easier
