Most SLP’s who specialize in dysfluency would strongly advise against such a device, for a variety of reasons, main one being that avoidance behaviors and using “odd” voices is a sure way to make your dysfluency more negatively impactful. SLP’s who specialize in dysfluency actually will teach you effective habits that can dramatically decrease your blocks. In fact, i used to be *significantly* impacted by blocks, and now im not and can say the words I want, just by learning these habits. It was definitely challenging and hard work, but it’s effective and sustainable. And it can be done for free, with just your voice, a mirror, and your phone.
