McGuire technique - what is the end game? Does it ever leads to natural speech?

McGuire technique - what is the end game? Does it ever leads to natural speech? I've never taken McGuire Program. From my observation it sounds very controlled, not natural at all. It seems like it is suitable for more serious cases, mostly overt types and those who struggle with repetitions and prolongations. Does it ever lead to natural speech?
