Reading all of these comments is so heartbreaking. All of us share the same “affliction”, and I can relate to everything being said here. The fact that anyone feels trapped in a job, or scared to reach their full potential due to stuttering is so awful. Our self worth is not defined by a speech impediment. I work in finance and deal with senior management around the world on a daily basis. I can tell you, they do not care at all that I stutter. I have even talked to my boss about it many times and she is completely receptive. I can’t stress this enough, we think it’s a much bigger issue than others do. If you are a competent, hard working employee, who is diligent and efficient, your boss will not care that you stutter. I really hope and pray that everyone digs down deep and finds the strength to step outside of their comfort zone to find a career that they enjoy. We all deserve to be happy and achieve greatness...don’t let a speech disfluency dictate your future!
