It's the opposite for me. I talk horribly over the phone. When I was younger I used to answer with "Yes?" because I couldn't say "Hello." I've had people hang up on me because I couldn't get out a word. It's still a big problem for me. I like talking in person more because I have the added benefit of using body language and gauging the reaction of others. Funnily enough, when I was in high school I used to work at Wendy's and they would always put me on the drive-thru register talking through the headset and I almost never stuttered then, even on words that are normally very difficult for me to voice. It's weird how stuttering works. Nobody really understands it. It seems so situational, but on the other hand it's not, you're stuck with it for life.
