I believe this is so true. I've been speaking fluently for a fortnight, however today I went to a baby sensory class where i was to meet many new mums and dads for the first time. As soon as I had to introduce myself I had a huge block. I could only make the S sound that my name begins with. I was so embarrassed as they looked slightly puzzled and a little sorry for me. I couldn't say my name, leading to the organiser to come up to me and asking to point to my name on paper so she could tick me off. It really does affect my confidence but I'm still going to try get out there and face the world. Its been 2 weeks I havent stammered when saying my name. Was it maybe because those conversations were on the phone?
