Is our STUTTER approach-avoidance conflict really just a phobia in disguise? (in your own words) (see the images) Could the approach-avoidance conflict be explained mainly by a phobia? That is, is the approach-avoidance conflict best understood as a manifestation of phobia? For example, feared words can trigger an error-avoidance response (i.e., needing to avoid the feared word) to execute speech. Saying our feared name, feared situations, fear of stuttering, fear of judgements (etc) - at the end of the day, our subconscious brain paint the "speech plan" (regarding what and how we plan to say it) as a problem/error to be avoided. Triggering the approach-avoidance conflict and stuttering-like disfluencies. https://preview.redd.it/zhv599vvohsf1.jpg?width=517&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2839e22be3685e9bdae500cd2cfc4e4357cc02c https://preview.redd.it/3okxkouzohsf1.jpg?width=225&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ec08b481c1cc372da07f3b9a850990302097ad8 https://preview.redd.it/afkhb891phsf1.png?width=650&format=png&auto=webp&s=29c5e9289bfa0203206e69407ddf34d4b1f85813 https://preview.redd.it/2vc7jv42phsf1.png?width=526&format=png&auto=webp&s=57cf3ba997c7e3ab7552e757ca2f26130cbe71cd https://preview.redd.it/ugdlppd3phsf1.jpg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e171a37abcdb301ae92ea2cc45cb3802fb7a31f4 https://preview.redd.it/et9uds74phsf1.jpg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b387a473a07ad0c06c74c61774d05de555e5e143 [Screenshot](https://i.imgur.com/DrWoZZa.png) of the images. \~\~ Your thoughts?
