Your diaphragm is directly impacted by anxiety. I’m fact, it’s called a valsalva maneuver, and it’s a common response to stress/panic. As someone who despised drivethrough for years, I was not remotely nervous about it in theory. It’s not a job interview!! The fear comes not from the current situation (no one is inherently afraid of ordering a large fry!), but from memories of historical panics/embarrassment about speaking. Blocks come from your attempt to hide a repetition. you don’t stutter alone *only bc there’s no one to judge you as being a “freak”*
