Well, if the job function is to actually speak a bunch, especially if it ties in with PR considerations... I don't think we can argue qualification in spite of that fact... I mean, I'm certainly lucky that my workplace found me useful even though I stutter (I actually stuttered *a lot* during the first interview). But we can't reasonably expect all companies to behave in similar fashion, I don't think. Sucks for our opportunity field, I know. But there's a pragmatic angle here that we can't quite pretend isn't there. Should we demand affirmative action even though we know these things? It's a tough question, seems like.
