I think everyone that has even the mildest of speech impediments finds it very difficult because we are exposed to so many people that speak fluently everyday. It is very frustrating when someone who is is able to speak fluently and doesn’t understand our issue makes fun of us for something we can’t control. I have a medium stammer and almost everyone I know is aware of it and they still take occasional jabs at me. By far the most irritating thing is when someone imitates its. It takes everything in me not to punch them in the face and although they are my closest friends they still don’t understand how much it hurts to be teased like that. People don’t realize but it is almost the same as imitating someone with Down syndrome, which is of course completely unacceptable. All of this is to say that you are not alone, however your speech effects you. You are of course welcome here and I think it is important for everyone that has difficulty speaking to support each other whatever the severity
