I can't say it's totally unrelated to stuttering, but that's not the symptom of stuttering. Stuttering is just influencing patients' speech fluencies, or maybe in addition to weird movements(that's also bc they are trying to overcome stuttering). But if he was just too nervous to let others find him having stuttering then it's called 'Avoidance Behaviour', then the answer is yes.
