I have not been on the McGuire program. The main thing that puts me off is the mechanical nature that it encourages people to talk in. That said I know of two people who have done it and swear by it. The price doesn’t seem too bad, it includes 12 months of mentoring and I am fairly sure you can return and do the intensive course again for free to top up if you are a member. The McGuire program presents a method of improving “flow.” Mileage will vary. I think ripping it to shreds based on the website is a bit disingenuous as it has helped thousands of people around the world. A cheaper alternative in the UK is the starfish program. Personally I have no issue with sub compiling a list of resources, courses and books to help people in their journey managing their stutter.
