It’s cuz you’re blocking on the word you originally want to say, so your brain quickly digs for a word that would be easier for you to say, but can also communicate the same thing, or at least a statement that will be similar to the one you originally intended. I did this subconsciously for years before learning it was pretty standard stuttering behavior.
