Techniques from speech therapy Some things I learnt from speech therapy. 1. Sliding in: instead of a blunt start to the word, enter it slowly then speed up to normal pace e.g. saaaussages. (first word that came to mind lol) 2. soft touches: similar, instead of a blunt first syllable, say it softly. Soften the sound and you'll sound a little quieter too e.g bbarbeque not BArbegue. 3. individual sounds: one I discovered myself. You break your words down and imagine each syllable is just a sound you're making, not a word. It takes the pressure off. And don't worry about making them connect fluidly, just say each sound at a time. 4. pauses: break your sentence into chunks of 3/4 words, put pauses in. 5. relaxation: I can't show you examples here but do relaxation exercises before you start your day. 6. breathing out: one I saw online somewhere. breathe your air out before you say a word you know will be difficult so your breath in begins the word. Sometimes works. 1, 2 and 3 really help me, I hope these can help some of you :)
