Of course!! In layman’s terms, if you were to walk down a staircase...Naturally your mind (maybe very subconsciously at this point) would already see you smoothly moving down the staircase, step by step. If you visualized and followed the visualization of you falling...you falling would most likely be the outcome. Visualize the feelings of smooth speaking, how you would communicate, vibrant confidence, what your throat would feel like in smooth speech, how the room would feel, what you would say and to whom(preferably people you regularly struggle with). As many small details as you can visualize to strengthen the subconscious mind of you being a great speaker. I see it as an intentional daydream you try to carry over to your current present. I feel like when I’m anxious, worried about stuttering or anticipating a stutter I’m 99% gonna stutter. If I’m constantly rewriting my brain to not be sensitive to the thought of stuttering, visualize smooth speech and see myself as confident communicator...I will still stutter 70% of the time because I still have the poor speaking techniques formed and reinforced from stuttering for so many years. (Still an improvement) I believe mastery of technique, desensitiving to stuttering and positive visualizations could make it a lot more manageable and provide more sustainable fluency over time. There’s tons of videos on YouTube explaining visualizations. It’s a form of meditation that they could explain 100x better than I could. This is just my ideology and would love to hear and try to help others. Thanks for asking! 😁
