Its not too late to get out there, no matter what age you are. I'm getting on in years and I was surprised when I learnt that a lot of people, who do not have a stutter, feel lonely or are friendless. It really does become harder to make connections when you get older it's true, it's a loss of common ground and also its somewhat expected of people to have already have friends. Sometimes people's thoughts aren't to make friends because they already have them, so you really have to be the one to make your way into these relationships. If you have any hobbies I suggest finding settings where these hobbies occur, like a club or event of some sort that you could attend, a lot of the time I easier to socialise when the context or setting is within your interests; which makes it easier and even more enjoyable to socialise. You would be surprised to see and hear how many people out there are experiencing what you're experiencing, and that in the end we are all people just looking for a connection. Socialising is more difficult and scary for us than others, that's also true, if you want something you have to go out and get it; which is true for everyone. You're more than your stutter, and there are people out there who are missing your company. I hope you can find the courage and understand that you're far more valuable than you believe you are
