Like with any other disability, you **MUST ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF!** "I stuttered because I am a stutterer. I grew up with a stutter and it is a challenge I face in my life every day." We've all felt that humiliation you experienced. But the humiliation is wrong. Your professor was wrong. And I hate saying this, but every time we don't stand up for ourselves, we're wrong. Don't live with the humiliation. Go to the professor. Ask to address the class about your stutter. Advocate for yourself and for others. IDK how many people are in your class, but if you advocate for yourself, and your peers hear you, think about the impact that will have. One of your peers may someday be a professor with a stutterer presenting to them. It's safe to say that most everyone in that class will engage with stutterers at some point in their professional careers or personal life. Advocating for yourself has more power and influence than just your situation. This humiliation can live in your memory for a long time. Or you can turn it into a moment of pride. Tomorrow can be the day that you denied the humiliation and stood tall.
