Stuttering is rather prevalent among those with down syndrome and they are considered as me tally impaired to a meaningful extent. So there's that. Then there's the fact that stutterers come from all walks of life and among us there are utterly brilliant people just like among the general, fluent population. I was always pretty much the top of my class. Stuttering might come with some baggage and I'm not immune to that. I will say that as I've attended some stutterers' speaking meetings, there's probably been a tad more people that I'd consider on the, uh, weirder and un-gorgeous than you'd expect in a similar random group of people but that could easily be due to the sample size. So in my layman's view yeah it CAN be connected but it doesn't necessarily have to do with stuttering, could be a coincidence or really anything. Not sure this was helpful at all, haha.
