>I dont want my son to stutter. Guide me. This is honestly the entire issue of stutter. We don't want to stutter, but we are people who stutter. Wanting to not stutter as a person who stutters is like a ginger person wanting to not have red hair. It's part of who they are. If I had to guess, it's not the stutter you don't want him to have, but the perceived hardships, alienation, and life difficulty. The good news is there are so many people who stutter who have jobs, relationships, friends, live completely fulfilled lives, and still stutter. It doesn't have to be an either or. I see you have a many fears and concerns, but the question I have is how does your son feel about it? Perhaps his stutter worries you more than it worries him?
