I agree with you too, I think achievements that make you truly proud of yourself can give you a huge confidence boost (and also a lot of happiness and genuine satisfaction in general), I also agree with you when you said about preparing yourself for your career, I think maybe preparing yourself can be improving your stutter to the point it no longer hinders yourself on that job. But I disagree with you when you said about jobs that have limited contact with people. I think you need to choose the job you truly want without caring about your stutter, and if your job needs really effective communication (like an emergency doctor, firefighter, police officer, etc.) then you need to improve your stutter until it no longer limits you. As you said, prepare yourself for the future.
