It is not easy at all, and I often wonder why I was handed this situation as well. I will say though, it hardens and humbles you. The phrase I remember another stutterer saying is it's like "a sword being tempered by a flame." I think I can put up with a lot more than I could otherwise, and I'm thankful for what I got. In addition, I'm not a jerk, I generally think I'm pretty nice to people, and one big reason is because of my stutter. I probably would have ended up being an egotistical jerk otherwise.
