Amtrak Requiring Telephone to Modify Reservation

Amtrak Requiring Telephone to Modify Reservation **TL;DR** Can't modify my train reservation online. Have to make a stupid phone call, even though the original reservation was made online. --- Just got a robocall and an email for my train trip to GenCon. They said part of my trip has been cancelled and *I* had to *call them* to fix it. Just dug around on the Amtrak website and found out the problem is that Indiana, for some reason, is withholding funds for the train line if be using. Amtrak listed two options for reaching Indianapolis: an alternate train, it a bus. The alternate train doesn't run on Wednesdays, so that means I'm stuck with a bus ride. I figured I could get around the phone call when I see a "modify reservation" option in the site menu. So I go there and enter my reservation number and email. What greets me? A big ol' banner with the text: >This reservation is not eligible for online modification. For assistance, call 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245). > >A portion of your trip has been canceled. For Assistance, contact an Amtrak representative at 1-800-USA-RAIL (800-872-7245) for assistance. So I'm stick with a call and I have to keep the options straight and figure out the best one whole keeping my anxiety in check. Yay. It's not too hard to make reservations on their website. And cancellations and modifications aren't that uncommon. Why should it be so hard to offer self-service options online to deal with them?
